If you do already use Ryobi power tool products, the One+ Series is compatible with a wide range of Ryobi 18v batteries, which includes P100-105, and P107 and P108. Amazon is a great place to find battery packs if needed.
Obviously, since the P515 is battery-powered, you have unlimited mobility, something that’s really handy with a smaller reciprocating saw that’s likely to be used for a lot of outdoor tasks in and around the yard. Plus, it’s always best to avoid cords when you can anyway.
Okay, onto the size aspect. The P515 is incredibly small and compact and is only about 6.3 inches long without a blade. That’s almost 10-12 inches shorter than full-sized reciprocating saws, so you have the ability to fit it into many areas that are tighter in space.
The saw has a weight of 4.35 lbs, which is also a lot lighter than bigger models. This makes it great for long periods of uses, or when you’re carrying it around while clearing brush and limbs, or simply angling the saw in an awkward position when needed.
Although the P515 is on the small side of the spectrum, its performance is definitely not. The saw offers the same standard cutting stroke of 1-⅛ inch, the same as the conventional model.
And even more impressively, you get a blade speed of 3,100 SPM, which is as fast as it gets. This thing is a beast.
Handling is a breeze as well. The size and weight certainly help things as is, but a rubber overhold on the handle offers improved grip, along with the anti-vibration handle design.

The smaller stroke length is a tad bit noticeable as well. While the loss of a standard ⅛ inch doesn’t sound like much, it does diminish the sawing efficiency just a little.
The lack of a battery may be bothersome to some, so let me remind you again that this is a bare tool, so you’ll need to provide your own battery AND charger.

The PCC670B is not necessarily ideal for the most demanding contractors, but it can definitely get the job done when called upon. Still, if durability is essential for you, and you need something a little bigger and more rugged, you may want to look elsewhere.
However, if you’re looking for an economical all-around saw that provides mobility, power, speed, and ease of use to use around your home and property, this is one of the best buys you can make, period.
The Porter Cable PCC670B is an exceptional value in many ways. It outperforms its size, offers comparable power to larger saws, while still retaining a more compact stature that makes it more maneuverable in tight situations.
The build and features of the PCC670B give it a sense of versatility that’s pretty hard to equal. Yes, you’ll need to provide your own battery when purchasing this saw, but the value and quality remain.
